Architectural Control Committee

For information regarding building, renovating, or adding features to the exterior of your home, please review the deed restrictions for your section (below) or contact the ACC at: TheOEACC@gmail.com

The Architectural Control Committee (“ACC”) was established by the Outpost Estates Bylaws and prescribed by the original Deed Restrictions. The committee is comprised of volunteers who generously donate their time in an effort to protect the aesthetic integrity and market value of our neighborhood. Its purpose is to review all exterior-related construction, renovation, and improvement plans.

Submitting your plans to the ACC and receiving approval will help property owners avoid lost time and money.  The ACC actively works with the City of Houston and legal counsel to enforce Deed Restrictions.

Plans not submitted for review to the ACC prior to the start of construction will be red tagged (construction will be halted) until the plans have been reviewed and approved.

Any nonconforming structures found to have been completed without approval and against Deed Restrictions must be remedied prior to new project review.

As a service to our neighborhood, we have made a copy of each section’s deed restrictions available at the bottom of this page, along with Outpost Estates governing documents and a section map.  If you need a legal copy of these documents, please obtain them from the appropriate government authorities.

DEED RESTRICTION REVIEW PROCESS

Please review our Deed Restrictions with your builder and architect prior to submitting plans.   When your plans are ready for review, the following items should be submitted to TheOEACC@gmail.com:

  • Survey with clearly marked setbacks, easement, and building lines showing the location and size of the proposed improvement(s) within the setbacks, easements, and building lines.
  • A complete set of plans and documents that should include, but are not limited to: site plan, roof plan, floor plan, foundation plan, framing sections, materials list, all elevations, all flatwork, all existing and proposed buildings on the site as they relate to each other.

It is extremely important that the submitted documentation be as thorough and complete as possible to avoid delays in the review process.  While the ACC tries to review each project as efficiently as possible, the Committee has up to 30 days to complete its review, but this can be extended if required information is missing.

In the event the ACC requests a modification of your plans, the revised plans would need to be resubmitted for approval, restarting the 30-day review period.

In the event the ACC denies your plans, you have the right to modify and resubmit, or to appeal to the Outpost Estates Civic Club Board.
